Our Story
Our story is one of passion, precision, and experience. We are fully licensed and trusted professionals in the aviation industry, holding an Air Operator Certificate (AOC) (N1571D & G1603D) from the SACAA, along with Domestic (N1571D) and International (G1603D) Class 2 and 3 Licenses from the Air Service Licensing Council, reinforced by G2, G3, G4,G10,G15 &G16 endorsements for specialized aerial operations, on & offshore. Safety and excellence are not just standards — they are the foundation of everything we do.
At the heart of Air Blade Aviation is our extraordinary team. In addition to our executive team, our chief pilot has logged over 35,000 flight hours in helicopters and airplanes across the globe, from pristine landscapes to challenging war zones in Africa, commanding aircraft such as the Super Puma, Huey, and private and commercial jets. Alongside him, our ASO (Airside Safety Officer), a retired Lieutenant Colonel from the Air Force, ensures every operation runs with flawless safety and precision. Our team has flown celebrities like Tom Cruise and royalty such as Princess Charlene, combining world-class skill with discretion and professionalism.
But our story isn’t just about luxury. We also bring our expertise to aerial surveys, game capture, and high-end photography and videography. From capturing Cape Town’s skyline for Netflix’s Bridgerton Season 4, to filming the iconic Checkers 6060 campaign, our work turns the sky into a canvas, helping clients bring their visions to life with unmatched precision.
And while we create once-in-a-lifetime experiences for our clients, we also fly with purpose. In proud partnership with Rhino 911 and HeliAfrica, led by Nico Jacobs and Fred Hees, we use aviation to protect South Africa’s rhinos from poaching.
